How to Shed Weight Fast

Weight Loss

Being able to shed weight fast helps to keep the weight loss spirits up, and encourages the dieters to continue with the program. However, care should be taken that the weight is shed in a healthy manner to avoid getting sick. Here are some of the healthiest and safest ways to shed weight fast.

A 7-Day Juice Fast

A juice fast is the best way to shed weight, as it requires that no food is consumed during the fast. The only nutrients that are allowed, are those that can be obtained from freshly made fruit and vegetable juices, tea and water.

The longer the fast is carried out, the more weight can be lost, however, some may not be able to fast for more than a few days. If that is the case, then the fast should be stopped immediately, but can be continued again within a few days. The key is to stick to a clean diet with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables in between the fasts to ensure that the weight does not come back.

Eliminate All Junk Foods

Junk foods really have nothing to offer the body, except for high amounts of unwanted calories that contribute to weight gain. But these foods not only are high in empty calories, but they are also extremely high in toxins, which contribute to weight gain. Therefore, as soon as they are eliminated from the diet, the excess weight will begin to come off.

Some of the worst offenders are donuts and other goodies at the coffee shop, chips, candy and chocolate bars, as well as many home made desserts and treats. Sodas, commercially packaged juices and caffeine should also be eliminated.

Eliminate Animal Proteins

Animal proteins contain high amounts of saturated fats that not only contribute to high cholesterol levels, but those fats can cause one to eat more foods than what is necessary. This is because the saturated fats contain palmitic acid, which slows down the signal to the brain to let it know that enough food has been consumed.

In addition, animal proteins can stay in the stomach for up to 8 hours, whereas fresh fruits and vegetables are out within a few hours. Thus fruits and vegetables along with nuts and seeds should be the primary source of foods.

Exercise at Least an Hour a Day, Five Days per Week

Exercise burns off fat cells, and the more one exercises, the more one can lose. However, too much exercise may have adverse effects. Thus an hour a day, 5 days a week of vigorous cardio exercises and moderate strength training is all that is needed.

The body should be able to rest from the exercise at least 2 days a week. This gives the muscles a chance to heal and grow so that they can burn off even more fat cells.

Drink Lots of Water

Water naturally suppresses hunger by making the body to feel full. Therefore drinking plenty of water throughout the day will help to fight off food cravings. And drinking a glass or two about 20 minutes before each meal will help to decrease the amount of food that is eaten.
